Biographical Information: DORA (or DORIS) MANNING, born 10th December 1898 at Charters Towers, Queensland, died 8th May 1979 in Brisbane, Queensland, of a pulmonary embolism. Apparently adopted the surname ANNEAR, but the surname Manning appears on her birth and marriage certificates. Married (25th May 1935) George Lewis Downer (born 6th November 1910 in London, England, died 22nd February 1989), from the Isle of Wight, Hampshire, England, where there are cousins living (1994), served in the R.A.A.F. in World War II, self-employed businessman, lived latterly as a widower at Miami, Queensland, having one daughter:-
