William Bruce (bill) Purvis
Biographical Information: WILLIAM BRUCE PURVIS (BILL), born 13th November 1899 (registered 1900) at The Peak, Cobar, New South Wales, baptised 1900, died 13th July 1982 or 13th August 1983. Labourer and later truck owner (W. B. Purvis & Son) and driver transporting mail, wool and other goods in the country around Cobar. Lived most of his life around Hillston, Wrightville, New South Wales, with his home latterly at 30 Canberra Crescent, Burrill Lake, New South Wales. Married 1st (24th August 1922 at St Paul's Church, Newtown, Sydney) Robina Grace McIntosh (born 10th June 1905 at Shuttleton, Cobar, died 28th December 1956), who drove trucks for her husband until they divorced (1940s) after which she did war work as a 1st Class oxy-acetylene welder at De Havillands and then drove luggage wagons at Sydney Central Railway Station, living latterly at St Peters, Sydney, having five children;- WILLIAM BRUCE PURVIS (BILL) married 2nd (1946 in Parramatta, New South Wales) Eva Bailey (Nana to her step-grandchildren), who survived him.
