Biographical Information: HELEN MARGARET COLEMAN, A.M., born 28th December 1937 in Parramatta, New South Wales. Awarded the A.M (Member of the Order of Australia). Trained and worked as a music teacher, from 1975 a community arts officer, then a music officer for the Australian Council funding arts in the Commonwealth, from 1978 music officer for the New South Wales Ministry for the Arts, (1987-98) General Manager of the New South Wales Arts Council responsible for developing the arts in rural areas, and (2009) retired and playing chamber music. Living (2009) in Balmain, Sydney, New South Wales. Married (3rd January 1959 in Parramatta) Charles Graham Colman (born 5th September 1936 in Inverell, New South Wales), musician and conductor of the Leonine Consort Song Company, and was divorced (1988), having no children.
