Biographical Information: RICHARD CHARLES MILLARD, born 3rd January 1945 in Sydney, New South Wales, died 6th July 2009 at Bomaderry, New South Wales. Graduate of Hawkesbury Agricultural College, Hawkesbury, New South Wales, and pioneer farmer on 7,500 acres of virgin land 135 kilometres East of Esperance, Western Australia, on which he ultimately had 18,000 sheep, 1,000 acres of crop and 100,000 trees. Sportsman (especially rugby), athlete (especially hurdles) and avid cyclist. At age 50 (1995) he won the Simpson Desert Classic, a 520 mile and 5 day race by mountain bike over the sands of the Simpson Desert to Birdsville, Queensland. Living (2004) retired at Cambewarra (Tapitallee), New South Wales. Married 1st (20th May 1970 at Burwood, Sydney) Charissa Frances Smith (born August 1945), veterinarian, living (2004) at Gatton, Queensland, and was divorced (1983), having two children:- RICHARD CHARLES MILLARD married 2nd (23rd April 1995 in Sydney, New South Wales) Anne Myfanwy Evans (born 5th June 1949), teacher, living (2011) at Tapitallee, New South Wales, daughter of Ralph William Evans (married 12th June 1948) and Agnes Miriam Ireland, having no further children.
