Biographical Information: MARTIN ANTHONY PURVIS, born 29th June 1949 at Luanshya, Northern Rhodesia (Zambia). Educated in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) and in England while his parents were on assignment in Ankara, Turkey (c.1963). Visited (1970) his grandmother, who was then living with her brother-in-law Julian Amourous Purvis (see 1.1.3.1.7.7.11. below) in Brisbane, Queensland, and met his 1st cousin Marion Heather Miller or O'Sullivan (see 1.1.3.1.7.7.10.4. below). Graduated (1971) from the Northern Technical College, Ndola, Zambia, in Applied Electrical and Electronic studies. Worked (1972-76) for local engineering companies in Zambia. In 1976 he started up a contracting company and ran this until 1986 in conjunction with Yakkamunda Farm, Luanshya, which itself expanded into a viable commercial venture and which he still owned (1996). In 1987 he emigrated to Australia, working on mining sites in the North of Western Australia. In 1993 he started up an electrical contracting company in Western Australia. Keen rugby player, playing representative rugby for Zambia (1972-76) and touring internationally with various Zambian club teams, won the Zambian National Fishing Competition (1984), a pilot holding Zambian, American and Australian licences, member of Luanshya Rotary Club (1981-86) and President in 1984. Living (2010) in Hillary's, Perth, Western Australia. Married (29th September 1973 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Luanshya) Christine Anne Lake (? Lace) (born 14th June 1947 at 15 John Street, South Norwood, Croydon, London, England), registered nurse, midwife and farmer, who was working as a nursing sister for the Roan Antelope Copper Mine in Luanshya when she met her husband, daughter of William Frederick George Lake (? Lace) (died before 1973), builder's labourer, and Lydia May Day, having three children:-
