Biographical Information: MARY MARJORIE (or MARGERY MARY) PURVIS (MARJORIE or MARGERY), born 3rd May 1892 in Dubbo, New South Wales, died November 1980. When her mother left her father and moved to Queensland (c.1898), she was boarded out with an elder brother (either Robert Bruce Purvis (see 1.1.3.1.7.7.5. above) or Charles Lloyd Purvis (see 1.1.3.1.7.7.6. above)) at Cobar, near Dubbo, until her sister Helena Margaret Purvis (Lena) (see 1.1.3.1.7.7.4. above) married (1902) Charles Leake and took her to live with them. They developed a very close relationship and she was under the impression that both her parents were dead (in fact her father lived until 1929 and her mother until 1914). Married (1st July 1916 in Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales) George William Lindsay Miller (William) (born 11th July 1884, died 1974), motor trimmer and car upholsterer, son of George Whaley Miller (born 1840 in Loughbrickland, Co. Down, Ireland (Northern Ireland), married 1877 in Omeo, Victoria, died 1885) and Georgina Lindsay (who remarried ….. Baker and had three sons), having four children:-
