Biographical Information: FORBES WALLACE ADAM, born 16th July 1906, died 3rd February 1977 at Galashiels Hospital, Galashiels, Selkirkshire, Scotland. Drysalter and chemical manufacturer, he took over from his father the firm of R. P. Adam Ltd, Arpal Works, Riverside Road, Selkirk, Selkirkshire. Lived at The Elms, Abbotsford Road, Galashiels. Married (14th December 1939 at St Cuthberts Parish Church, Edinburgh, Scotland) Laura Birnie (born 22nd February 1915, died 29th June 2004 at Clarendon, 17 High Cross Avenue, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland), living (1989) at Melrose, who was a nurse in London, daughter of David Birnie, clergyman of the Episcopal Church, and of Dorothy Collins (died before December 1939), having three children:-
