Biographical Information: ARCHIBALD CRUICKSHANK PURVIS JR (ARCHIE), twin, born 24th May 1939 in New York City, New York. After university in New York City, and Munich, Germany, and military service with the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst, he was an Account Manager with the Birds Eye Division of General Foods Corp., National Sales Manager with Polaroid Corporation and Executive Vice President and Partner of Lear, Purvis, Walker & Company, Executive Search. He then entered the media and communications business as (1977-79) Vice President Industrial Marketing for MCA/Universal's Discovision Division, where he was an early pioneer in home video and multi-media, responsible for marketing, developing and distributing interactive programmes and mass image storage/retrieval concepts. Joined (1980) the American Broadcasting Co. as Vice President of their Video Sales Division and (1985) was named Senior Vice President and General Manager ABC Video Enterprises Inc. President/Managing Director of ABC Distribution Company, American Broadcasting Company's international programme distribution division (1st black president of an ABC operating division) (1989-94). Since 1994 Senior Executive of his own international television, business and marketing consultancy (Purvis Enterprises Inc.) (2004). Board Director of General Telephone West (1989-93), appointed by U.S. President Ronald Reagan a Board Director of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (1987-91), Board Director of Rebuild Los Angeles immediately after the Los Angeles riots (1992-94), Board Director of Los Angeles Y.M.C.A. (since 1993), Member of the U.C.L.A. (University of California, Los Angeles) Board of Counsellors (since 1998), Adviser to the Los Angeles Community College District and L.A. Prosper, appointed (1994-99) by the U.S. Department of Justice a Trustee in Bankruptcy for the Central District of California. Living (2009) at Encino, California. Married (30th October 1966 in New York City) Candace Hamlin Caldwell (born 15th December 1937 in New York City), professional ballet dancer, daughter of Harold Caldwell (died before 1999) and Marguerite Addison (born c.1908, died August 2003) who was living (1999) in Newport, Rhode Island, and was legally separated (1987), having two children:- ARCHIBALD CRUICKSHANK PURVIS JR (ARCHIE) lived (1991-2004) with partner Priscilla Valdejuli (born 14th February 1954 in San Juan, Puerto Rico), marketing administrator and style adviser to celebrities (including film actress Goldie Hawn and others similar), and separated (c.2004), having no further children.
