Biographical Information: AUGUSTUS GLOVER PURVIS, born June 1884 in South Carolina, died c.1969 in Virginia. Per the 1900 census he was at school (aged 15) and living with his parents at 145 Spring Street, Charleston, South Carolina. Attended Wesleyan University, Connecticut, and then trained as a physician. Witness to the death of his mother (17th May 1921) where he is designated “Dr” and as living at 61 Beaufain Street, Charleston. Married ….., having issue. Note: Descendants of Augustus Glover Purvis are *PATWIN B. LAWRENCE (great-grandson) of Charleston, South Carolina, and *SUSAN BRODY of Exton, Pennsylvania (2006).
