Biographical Information: ALEXANDER PURVIS, born 1850. His guardian, while a minor after his father's death (1857), was Margaretta Forten (born 1806, died 1875), his mother's sister, who is buried in the cemetery of St James the Less, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went (c.1860s) to Kansas with his sister Sarah M. Purvis (see 1.1.3.2.3.4. above) and her husband.
