Biographical Information: JESSIE MARY PURVIS, born 1843, died 29th December 1935 at Murrayfield Avenue, Haymarket, Edinburgh, Scotland, aged 92. Fundholder. Living (c.1877) at 23 Powis Square, Notting Hill, London, England, when she accommodated and gave a party for Robert William Theodore Purvis (see 1.1.3.5.1.2. below) while on his way (November 1877) from Bruges, Belgium, to the Hawaiian Islands. She probably moved (c.1891) to Edinburgh, and was living (1892) at 29 Rutland Square, Edinburgh. Unmarried. [Note: The witness at her death (1935) was a cousin (not apparently on the Purvis side of her family): Matthew Henry (born c.1864, died 9th September 1954 at 38 Inverleith Row, Edinburgh, aged 90 years and unmarried), living (1898) at 7 Belford Terrace, Edinburgh, and (at time of her death (1935)) at 1 Heriot Row, Edinburgh.
