Wilhelmina Cornelia (minnie Or Schone) Purvis
Biographical Information: WILHELMINA CORNELIA PURVIS (MINNIE or SCHONE), born 17th March 1855 in Padang, Sumatra, Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), died 1936 (aged 81). Went (c.1878) with her family to the Hawaiian Islands (Hawaii). Governess to the children of Princess Pauahi (Mrs Charles Bishop) in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaiian Islands (Hawaii). Left the Hawaiian Islands soon after she married (1882) and lived in Havana, Cuba, and Lisbon, Portugal, where her husband was posted with the French Consular Service. She was the principal collector and conservator of the family letters which are now in the Beatrice Greenwell Collection in Hawaii. Married (10th April 1882 in two ceremonies successively at the Protestant and Catholic churches in Honolulu) L.O. Jules Ratard (born 29th February 18??, died 8th May 1914), Legion d'Honeur, French Consular Service, French Commissioner in Honolulu and Consul in Havana (1882), in Lisbon (c.1888-90), in Yokohama, Japan, Shanghai, China, and living (1892) in Paris, France, having no children.
