Biographical Information: BEATRICE CONSTANCE PURVIS (BABY), born 7th July 1867 in Ixelles (Elsene), Brussels, Belgium, died 5th November 1947 in Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, England. Went to the Hawaiian Islands (1878) and then (1883) with her mother and sister Florence (see 1.1.3.5.2.1.8. above) to Australia, where they stayed with relations of her mother (John and Cassie Brown) at Cooerwull, Bowenfels, New South Wales, and thence to Java, Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), to rejoin her father. She and her sister Florence Forsyth Purvis (see 1.1.3.5.2.1.8. above) were living (c.1888-92) with their mother's aunt Jane Marshall at 85 Great King Street, Edinburgh, Scotland. Married (October 1900 in Deelfontein, Cape Town, South Africa) Charles Archibald John Gunning (Archie) (born 15th October 1859, died 26th March 1910 at Pemba, Zanzibar), Collector of Pemba, 2nd Class El Aliyeh Order, South African War medal (1900), son of Major Charles George Gunning, having two children:-
